This book review is spoiler free
The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them screenplay by JK
Rowling was amazing! Though I would have loved another novel, this screenplay
was written beautifully in every aspect as the movie was produced. By the time
I had read this I had already seen the movie multiple times but wanted to read
this, much to my friend’s recommendation.
Upon getting this book, I was already in love. This book
competed with The Thousandth Floor by Katherine McGee for best cover of 2016.
With the cover slip was a beautifully patterned design with many of the Beasts.
It gave off a modernized nineteenth century vibe and was a navy blue,
everything else gold. Taking the cover slip off was just as nice in my opinion.
Still the same colours, the difference was that the navy also had a small
intricate pattern and replacing the design, in the middle, was simply a
Niffler.
To be completely honest this was the first complete
screenplay I had read, and didn’t know what to expect; what if it was a more
boring version of the movie? If anything, it was better. Though the script is
the same, you seem to pick up on more details you hadn’t in the movie. There
are also many intriguing and beautiful, yet simple illustrations of the beasts
and other things related to the script threaded throughout the pages.
Anyways, this was a quick and enjoyable read for myself. I
would recommend it to those who are fans of Harry Potter or haven’t had enough
of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
